Year 3/4 Trip

Date: 4th Dec 2017

On Friday 17th November, years 3 and 4 travelled back in time and spent an Anglo-Saxon and Viking themed day at Bishop's Wood Visitor Centre. We all enjoyed building shelters in the forest out of branches and leaves (and got very muddy in the process). We sang Viking chants while we pretended to row a longship across the North Sea. After lunch, we went to the forge where we used a hammer to shape copper wire into brooches. We worked in pairs to spin wool by hand and shaped clay into pots which we carved Viking runes in to.

Well done to all the children who behaved brilliantly and thank you to all the members of staff and volunteers who came with us.
