Fire Safety Education

Date: 15th Dec 2017

On Wednesday 13th we had a visit from three active firefighters based at Dudley.  They asked us what we already knew about risks and causes of fires as well as road safety.  We were shown a video and played some interactive games spotting the many dangers in a scene. The first thing we were asked to think about was 'how do firefighters help people?' We came up with many, many ways, such as rescuing animals from trees and ditches, saving people from burning buildings and those trapped in cars.  Next we learnt about escape routes and plans, including Stop! Drop! Roll! which is what you should do if your clothes catch fire.  The firefighters left us with a booklet to fill in and give to our teacher to earn us a fire safety certificate.
