Head of School's Welcome

Welcome to Hurst Hill Primary School.

It is a privilege to welcome you to our website and to share a little of what makes our school such a special place to learn, grow and belong. Whether you are a current family, a prospective parent or simply interested in learning more about our school, I hope our website provides you with a valuable insight into life at Hurst Hill.

At Hurst Hill, we are proud to be part of Hales Valley Trust and to serve our wonderful community. As a one-form entry primary school with a nursery and wraparound care provision, we provide a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their very best.

As we celebrate Hurst Hill Primary School's 40th anniversary, we reflect with pride on four decades of serving our local community and providing generations of children with a nurturing, supportive and ambitious education. Whilst we honour our rich history and the many achievements that have shaped our school, we are equally excited about the future. This year marks an exciting new chapter as we expand our provision to better meet the needs of our community.

We are delighted to be opening Time for Twos, providing high-quality early education and care for our youngest learners and launching our Pathway Learning Centre, a specialist provision designed to support pupils who require additional help to thrive and succeed. These developments reflect our ongoing commitment to inclusion, early intervention and ensuring that every child and family within our community receives the support they need to flourish.

Our vision, values and commitment to learning underpin everything we do. We believe that strong relationships are the foundation of success and we are proud of the positive partnerships we have developed with our children, families and the wider community. These relationships help create the warm, caring and respectful atmosphere that visitors often notice as soon as they walk through our doors.

The wellbeing and safety of our children are at the heart of all that we do. Our strong safeguarding culture ensures that children feel happy, secure and ready to learn. Alongside this, we provide high-quality pastoral support that helps every child develop confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging.

We are equally committed to delivering an ambitious and engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity, develops lifelong skills and promotes a love of learning. Reading lies at the heart of our curriculum and we work hard to ensure every child becomes a confident reader, enabling them to access the full breadth of opportunities available to them. Our curriculum is designed not only to achieve academic success but also to prepare children for life beyond the classroom, developing resilience, independence and a lifelong love of learning.

Beyond the classroom, pupils enjoy a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including clubs, sporting events, performances, educational visits and leadership experiences. These opportunities help children discover new interests, develop talents and create lasting memories.

We are immensely proud of our school and the achievements of our pupils. Most importantly, we are proud of the kind, respectful and determined young people they become during their time with us. As our school continues to grow and evolve, our core values remain unchanged: putting children at the heart of everything we do and working in partnership with families to achieve the very best outcomes for every pupil.

If you are considering Hurst Hill for your child, I warmly invite you to visit us and experience our school community first-hand. We would be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for visiting our website. I hope it gives you a flavour of the vibrant, caring and ambitious school community that makes Hurst Hill such a wonderful place to learn. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to Hurst Hill Primary School and to sharing in your child's educational journey.
